What Does Our Credit Card?

We believe that our credit card is just a plastic box that offers an entity so as to make our purchases but, in essence, a credit card is much more than that.

It is a payment tool that includes a useful and important information about our bank and us. All this in a number of elements that compose it:

The bank or company that issues the card to us is reflected in the logo or identity that appears at the top of the card. We also can issue a chain of stores or a mall.

Every card has identified the standard by which it operates, a logo that serves as the setting where we will make purchases, to see if they accept the payment or not. Thus we find 6000 cards, Visa, Master Card, American Express, will serve, among others.

The ID chip in the middle of the card, containing all the information about us as owners and the characteristics of the card, for example, if funds are available or what is the limit of it. Some cards are already incorporating the chip into the plastic and, if used in a suitable reader can perform operations such as balance inquiry, or discount the price of a bus ticket on the total balance of our card.

The card number is the unique number that identifies the card, regardless of the entity that issues it.

The credit card must appear reflected our name, so we can identify with other documents.

The magnetic stripe is on the back of the card, recording important information about the cardholder and other relevant data on our balance.
